Father's Day - Remembering Dad

By Linda Werman online June 19, 2015

A daughter remembers her father...

Janet Niccoli daughterMy name is Janet Niccoli and I am writing to share with you the impact Old Colony Hospicehad on me during my father's illness, the most difficult time of my life.

Ten years ago, my father became ill very quickly. His doctor strongly suggested we seek hospice services. This was extremely difficult to hear but I honestly believe it was the best decision we could have made.

Although I am a nurse, first and foremost, I am a daughter. Our family and friends were allthere to help and support us. Having hospice involved with my father's care provided the expertise and calmness needed for pain management, comfort and education and support for my father, myself and my family.

I feel very fortunate to have an organization like Old Colony Hospice in my community. Believe me, you never know when you will need the services that they provide. I believe it is never too early to support the wonderful work that Old Colony Hospice provides on a daily basis.

It has been 10 years since my father passed away, not a day goes by that I do not think of him. I am blessed that I have wonderful memories of my father and in the last days of his life with the support of Old Colony Hospice I have even more memories...

Thank you,
