Grief Support and Bereavement Support Services
Grief support and bereavement support services provide valuable guidance and support to help family members and loved ones cope with the unique challenges presented by grief and loss.
Grief is a normal and natural reaction to the death of a loved one. By its very nature, grief is a difficult experience filled with all kinds of confusing and contradictory feelings.
Old Colony Hospice has a Grief Support and Bereavement Support Service Team dedicated to helping you through a time of personal grief. Our social workers also offer pre-bereavement support to the family members of Old Colony Hospice patients to provide supportive interventions before death.
Individual counseling is offered to the family members of Old Colony Hospice patients by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Short-term counseling sessions can be arranged to discuss feelings and strategies for coping with grief and loss.
SUPPORT GROUPS: Each person's grief is unique. Yet, sharing with other grieving individuals in one of our support groups may provide you with understanding and comfort. Facilitated by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, these groups offer participants an opportunity to share their feelings and experiences and receive reassurance and support while learning various techniques for coping with grief and loss.
- Please call Tricia O'Brien if you are interested in attending any of our support groups.
- Special interest seminars on varying topics and educational support groups are offered throughout the year.
- All of Old Colony Hospice's Bereavement Support Services are available to the community at no charge.
