On the Town – A Night Out with
Old Colony Hospice
The Shaw's Center, BrocktonNovember 8, 2007
More than 200 friends of Old Colony Hospice came out
“On the Town” at the recent fall fundraiser and helped raise over
$40,000 for the programs and services Old Colony Hospice provides to
patients, their families and the community. Guest emcee, Anqunette
Jamison, Fox25 Morning News Anchor welcomed guests and thanked them for
their support.
Guests were bidding on get away weekends, sports memorabilia, Patriots
tickets, golf outings and many other fabulous prizes. They were lined up
for tarot card readings, tested lady luck at the casino tables and
watched as the 50/50 jackpot raffle winner was revealed – ticket #68 was
the last ticket on the board and the winner went home with $1,850.
The On the Town raffle winners were drawn and received phone calls at
home to announce their winnings –

Marjorie Levy, CEO and Rev. George Welles, Vice Chairman of the Board of
Directors, each gave remarks about the impact Old Colony Hospice has on
the community and the support we can provide when it is needed. Reverend
Welles also recognized the guests as they are all an important part of
the hospice extended family. And on the big screen a beautiful and
poignant powerpoint presentation ran throughout the evening highlighting
the faces of Old Colony Hospice’s caregivers, volunteers, supporters,
events, sponsors and services.
The Shaw’s Center provided delicious hors d’oeuvres and desserts for
all. The Brockton High School Show Choir showcased the beautiful voices
of these students as they performed for attendees and the Berklee
College of Music Israeli Jazz Quartet entertained guests with their
terrific jazz sounds. There was something for everyone.
Guests were treated to some terrific wine and vodka by the wonderful
vendors who offered tastings which included our friends from 1666
Liquors in Brockton represented by Commonwealth Wines, The Wine Palace
in West Bridgewater, and M.S. Walker – Distributors in Somerville. Vodka
vendors included ZYR Russian Vodka and Christiani Vodka.
Our corporate sponsors made this evening possible as did the many other
wonderful businesses and individuals who donated prizes for our auction.
